Fans of the pair have even speculated that they've dated and often write songs about each other. Now Shawn and Camila are reuniting for a duet called 'Señortia'.

Months later, in October while performing a concert in Australia, Mendes announced to the whole venue that he and Cabello started dating on July 4, 2019.

At MTV's 2019 Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the two singers gave a very intense performance of the track.
During the performance, the two almost kissed a few times, causing some passionate audience members to yell for them to lock lips.
November 2019: Cabello spoke about their awkward start in an interview with Rolling Stone.
Cabello told the magazine that she knew she wanted to be with Mendes back in 2015 when they were working on "I Know What You Did Last Summer," but that neither of them were ready to admit it.
"I really bonded with him as more than a friend. I think he did, too, but we were both really young, and he was experiencing the pressures of his career. I don't think we knew what to do with those feelings. It was this awkward thing where we both liked each other, but we weren't together," she explained.
January 2020: The couple went all out for karaoke at a Grammys after-party.
Mendes and Cabello surprised fans when they didn't walk the red carpet together at the Grammys, but they weren't apart for too long.

October 2020: Mendes shared that he'd spent the past few months with Cabello and her family in Miami.
Reports the two had broken up circulated over the summer, but Mendes and Cabello put them to rest in a few recent interviews detailing what they've been doing amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Mendes went on the podcast "Smallzy's Celebrity Small Talk" at the beginning of October and shared that he spent three months quarantining with Cabello and her family in Miami.
"I mean, to be completely honest, it was my first time spending time with my girlfriend and her family in their house in Miami," he said. "I was there for like three months so I got really like, I was doing laundry, well I was barely doing laundry. I was trying to do laundry. I was learning how to cook. It was nice, man, it was really nice."
He also said that they watched the entire "Harry Potter" film series and Netflix's "Stranger Things" three times through each.
Later that month, Mendes released a new single inspired by their relationship.

Cabello showed her support for her boyfriend on Instagram after he released his new single, "Wonder," in the lead-up to his upcoming album of the same name.

That same month, Mendes told Radio.com that the lyrics of "Wonder" were inspired by the way his relationship with Cabello has challenged him emotionally.

Thanks to Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, we’ve finally found our song of the summer! On June 21, the young pop stars released a new single together called "Señorita" — as well as a steamy music video to go with it.
Given that the duo comes *this* close to making out like 10 different times over the course of the three-and-a-half-minute clip, fans are convinced they’re dating. So, are the Grammy nominees an item or are they just really good actors?

As much as they seemingly want us to believe that they’re a couple, sadly, Shawn and Camila are nothing more than close pals. The pair has been shooting down relationship rumors since 2015 when they released their first collaboration, "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
"We are just friends. We’re not dating," Shawn told ET at the time. Camila confirmed, "Yeah, we’re just friends. He’s like, one of my best friends. He’s amazing."
But the singers have also joked about their mutual affection for one another. "Every time I try to make a move she just swears me off," Shawn once teased, before Camila added, "He friend-zones me! He calls me 'kid!'"
Though a lot can change over the course of four years, Camila is currently in a committed relationship with British dating coach, Matthew Hussey. In fact, the brunette beauty recently hinted at how their year-and-a-half-long romance positively affected her songwriting.
"Writing this [second] album is the best time in my life and I have so many stories to tell and memories to capture and things I want to say and I can’t wait to show you," the 22-year-old wrote on social media.
In a 2018 interview with Marie Claire , Camila admitted that she and Matthew are very similar. "In person, we’re just weird and silly and stupid together. He makes me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life."

To be fair, Camila previously admitted that she channels a certain persona when performing. Before Shawn and Camila walked the VMAs red carpet (separately, sigh), they had to get ready for the big show! Vogue followed Camila as she picked out her dress and got all dolled up for her big performance.
In the vid, Shawn pops by to say hi to Camila before their steamy duet (around the 9:00 mark), and Camila talks about how “Señorita” came to be in the first place (around 7:10).

Throw on your trench coats and bust out your magnifying glasses, people, because we have a mystery on our hands: Are Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes dating?
Of course, you know these two both together and apart. Cabello is an ex–Fifth Harmony member who's since become a very successful solo artist. Mendes, meanwhile, also has hit songs and arms that belong in an art museum. Romance rumors between the two first popped up in 2015 and hit a peak recently thanks to their new joint single, "Señorita." With this song has come a slew of suspiciously timed PDA moments that raises the question: Relationship or PR stunt?
The jury is still out on that—officially—but there are several receipts we can turn to for further insight. So let's dive in to this great debate, shall we?
The "Señorita" music video. This is where the "more than friends" rumors truly began. Just watch 30 seconds of it and you'll see why. Cabello and Mendes's chemistry is palpable, and their interactions in this clip are so steamy that my glasses are now foggy. In fact, I can't even see what I'm typing right now because of the fog. Am I making sense? Is this English?
All jokes aside, though, it's important to note this is just a video. As Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper taught us earlier this year, onscreen sparks don't necessarily mean anything is happening offscreen.
Cabello attended Mendes's concert twice this past weekend. I wouldn't bat an eye if she went to the show once, but twice ? Plus, factor in all the sweet things she posted about him on Instagram during the show. "@shawnmendes you couldn't be more amazing," she wrote on her IG Stories. "You're unreal," she posted on another slide.
Their Fourth of July festivities. Paparazzi caught the two holding hands last Wednesday evening as they walked to Mendes's West Hollywood home together, according to ET Canada. They were also spotted at a pool party the next day looking pretty cozy:
A source told E! News of Mendes and Cabello's holiday fun, "He was holding her at one point and they were staring into the ocean. They both were smiling the entire time and Camila was laughing a lot. They rarely mingled with other people and were together the entire evening. They were telling people they were a couple."

Music's buzziest new couple may very well not be a couple at all.
Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have long been linked as tourmates and collaborators, and a string of recent public appearances and paparazzi shots has the internet thinking that the two young stars are an item.
Many fans, though, are less sure, flooding comments sections and Twitter replies with theories that it's all a publicity stunt.

How did they meet?

Long before they shared the spotlight on their new single "Senorita," Cabello and Mendes built their respective careers alongside one another, appearing on the same tour in 2014 as opening acts for Austin Mahone. For Mendes, it was his first major tour, and Cabello was still performing with her former group Fifth Harmony.
Over the next few years, Cabello and Mendes would release the 2015 single "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and show each other love via interviews and social media posts, before reuniting in June for "Senorita."
When did the rumors start?
Mendes and Cabello have previously denied their romantic involvement, but the rumor mill began churning again around the release of the two stars' sensual "Señorita" video. That same week, news broke that Cabello had split with her boyfriend of one year, British relationship coach Matthew Hussey, via People and E! News.
In the weeks since, Cabello attended Mendes' Los Angeles concert on July 5, after which Mendes and Cabello shared a late-night dinner and were photographed hugging after grabbing brunch on July 7, putting fans and tabloids on high alert.
What have Cabello and Mendes said?
While Cabello has stayed quiet about the most recent round of rumors, fan videos have emerged from a meet-and-greet with Mendes on July 6, in which he's asked if he's dating Cabello and shakes his head no.
Over the years, Mendes and Cabello have always maintained that their friendship has been strictly platonic, stretching back to their first tour together in 2014, during which Cabello started dating their tourmate Mahone.
"When we were on tour together, I never saw him,” Cabello told Variety about her and Mendes' early days on tour together. “He would go to his tour bus and practice guitar, then go onstage, and then go back and practice guitar."
In 2015, appearing on "The Late Late Show" to promote "I Know What You Did Last Summer," Mendes and Cabello again denied that they were romantically involved after host James Corden asked if they've ever made out.
"We haven't, actually," Mendes said, before joking, "Every time I try and make a move, she swerves me off."
"He friend-zones me, he calls me 'Kid,'" Cabello said about Mendes.
Mendes stressed to People again in 2016 that the two had never dated, telling the outlet, "We're just really close friends. She is one of those people who is just very easy to connect with and still, to this day, is one of my greatest friends."
"I love Shawn, he's a real friend," Cabello told radio host Zach Sang in 2018.

Are fans buying it?
From a quick scan of the Twitter replies to recent viral videos about Cabello and Mendes' supposed relationship, many fans are convinced the duo's recent sightings are actually a PR stunt to promote their new "Señorita" release.
"At this point it’s comical how hard they’re trying to prove they’re a couple," one skeptical Twitter user wrote, with another claiming Cabello and Mendes are "faking relationship to promote that garbage of a song."
"Their publicist is pushing this hard," read another reply.
Cabello and Mendes do have their defenders who stand by the relationship rumors, with one fan writing about their late-night dinner, "You all still calling it pr when they purposely went out at 5AM so nobody could see them and asked people to not take pictures. Just leave them alone it ain't that deep. Let them be whatever they want."
"I love how everyone is so quick to say PR, but these stars have been (linked) together so much before senorita, so obviously when this song came out it got those fans excited, not saying PR isn’t involved just saying that y’all shouldn’t come for them like that," wrote another.
